required for all applications. These fireboxes include White Stacked Refractory liners and black
metal floor. An optional blower and decorative screen doors can be used for added beauty and comfort. Use a separately purchased listed vent-free heater that meets the firebox size and input limits.
VRT2542WS is a vent-free firebox enclosure with white stacked side and rear refractory, mesh screens and the factory heat-deflection hood. It does not include a functioning burner/log heater. A separately selected ANSI Z21.11.2 listed vent-free gas heater is required for operation, with input no greater than 40,000 BTU/h and minimum enclosure dimensions satisfied by this firebox. Fuel, ignition, actual BTU input and controls depend on that exact heater; do not treat the maximum input as this enclosure’s heat output.
The supplied hood must be installed in every installation. It must not be modified or replaced by a hood supplied with the heater. Close the screens before operation. Do not burn wood or install a vented gas-log appliance in this firebox.

No chimney or vent pipe is required. The installation still requires adequate combustion and ventilation air under both the firebox and selected heater instructions. Do not install in a bedroom or bathroom. A hearth extension is optional. Keep circulating-air openings unobstructed, use the specified noncombustible facing above and around the opening, and do not pack the clearance spaces with insulation.
The exact decorative screen option is ASD4224-TI. FBK-100 supplies constant-speed circulation; FBK-200 includes variable-speed wall control. Blowers are optional. If selected, plan grounded 120 VAC, 60 Hz, single-phase power before enclosing the firebox; have a qualified electrician verify the junction-box/receptacle kit and switch requirements. The optional OAK-UVFRC outside-air kit uses the right-side connection; one kit serves that connection. FDVS decorative volcanic stone is optional and must be positioned according to the heater instructions.
