The supplied ember media comes in two 5-pound bags. This 35-inch model uses approximately 10 pounds following the installation manual’s placement instructions. This supplied material is not an additional customer media purchase requirement. Follow the exact oak or birch log-placement instructions; do not substitute logs or cover burner ports with extra material.
The listed colinear installation uses separate 3-inch exhaust and air-intake liners and a vertical termination. Listed kits include LINK-DV30B, LINK-DV4-30B, LINKSQB-DV30, LINKSQC-DV30, LINKSQB-DV4-30 and LINKSQC-DV4-30. Kit length, termination and short-intake details must match the actual chimney and manual. Do not terminate horizontally or connect to a flue serving another appliance.
The opening dimensions above apply to a standard surround. The specified deep-surround arrangement reduces minimum depth to 14 inches; custom flush arrangements add 7/8 inch. When the exhaust collar and damper do not align, allow the additional 4 inches specified by the manual. A qualified installer must check the complete opening geometry, hearth, combustible mantel and side clearances, service access and existing chimney condition.
