Approved decorative glass media is included with the Jade-B appliance. The standard glass-media configuration does not require purchasing an optional log set, stones or lighting kit. A compatible decorative barrier front must be ordered separately and installed before operation. Approved direct venting, correct fuel supply, electrical service, non-combustible facing and compliant framing are required installation provisions. Use the selected fuel variant and rating plate; conversion requires a certified kit and qualified service.
Manufacturer-approved reflective-glass refractory panels, traditional or driftwood log kits, stones and LED lighting are optional. IFT-RC400 and IFT-RC150 remote controls are optional; install and pair controls according to the accessory instructions. Optional fan and heat-management kits must be selected as a compatible configuration: the fan cannot be used with the Passive Heat kit. Heat-Zone-Gas, Heat-Out-Gas and Passive Heat have their own installation instructions and access requirements. Arrange these upgrades before finishing material blocks service access.
Use only the media approved for this exact fireplace. The installation manual directs an even layer on the basepan, with no glass on the burner top or in the gap behind it. Keep the pilot area and the space between fixed glass and firebox clear. Alternative log, stone and glass packages must follow their own instructions; package quantities do not turn optional decoration into a mandatory additional purchase.
Use HHT SLP venting and listed terminations, with a dedicated vent for this appliance. Do not mix pipe manufacturers. The permitted vent route depends on rise, horizontal run and elbow arrangement. Approved SLP-FLEX horizontal runs are reduced as specified in the manual; SLP-FLEX7 is Canada-only with required adapters. Maintain the exact vent, ceiling, mantel, finishing and flooring clearances. Passive Heat changes some framing and ceiling provisions, so use its kit instructions in addition to the base manual. Installation must follow the manufacturer documentation and applicable codes.
The Jade is a supplemental direct-vent heater, not the primary heating system. The glass and barrier become hot; do not operate with damaged or removed glass or without the barrier. Battery backup supports emergency operation, while accessories needing household power are unavailable during an outage. Schedule maintenance under the owner manual. HHT provides component-specific limited warranty coverage with conditions and exclusions; consult the full schedule rather than assuming uniform coverage for every component.
