The refractory selection is necessary to complete this appliance. Optional gas-log operation requires a complete matching burner and log set: match the tier and size, then select the correct burner fuel. A log set alone is not an operating gas system.
Use the complete SL1100 chimney system for U.S. installations. Individual pipe lengths or a cap alone do not make a complete system. Outside-air duct and chimney cooling-air kits are distinct components. Canada requires SL400 chimney, SLA10 and CAK8A. A cooling hood or all non-combustible materials are necessary. Mortar is optional: the molded refractory panels can be installed without it. If desired for appearance, use one 10 lb MMMORTR container for Traditional; Herringbone may use two, per the current installation manual.
Chimney components are sold separately. Venting Options remain optional for ordering; installation must follow the exact-model manual. The manufacturer family image may show optional accessories, finishes or a different door configuration.
