Exact compatibility and exclusions
The current installation manual lists E1060, Aurora A790 and Echelon E790. It explicitly states that 3518 is not intended for A660 or E660 grills. Do not use the broader wording on the general product page to override that restriction. Power-burner applications in the family manual apply to the listed 3515A and 3516A models, not to 3518.
Installation and configuration
Turn the grill off and let it cool completely before installation. Fit the drip tray, remove cooking grids and flavor grids as needed, and hang the griddle inside the grill liner. Center it over the entire burner or burners shown in the exact model's placement diagram. Incorrect positioning can cause uneven heating. Manual page 2 illustrates permitted single and multiple griddle arrangements for the supported grill families; the diagrams do not make a second griddle mandatory. This listing supplies one 3518, with the grill and any additional griddle sold separately.
Use and care
Read the grill and griddle manuals before use. Wipe the surface clean, apply suitable cooking oil or non-stick spray, follow the grill's lighting procedure and preheat at HI-LIGHT for 15 minutes. Verify temperature with a surface thermometer and adjust heat for the food. Reapply oil as needed. Use insulated gloves and long-handled tools, keep loose clothing away, and shut off burner controls and the gas supply after use.
Clean regularly to prevent grease buildup. The manual's after-use cleaning method warms the surface, switches the grill off, then uses a small amount of water or appropriate cleaner and an insulated long-handled tool. Do not flood the hot griddle with cold liquid. Hot steam is a hazard. Move residue toward the drip tray, remove cleaner, wipe and lightly oil the surface. Once cool, remove and wash the tray, rinse and dry it before replacement. Store the dry, cool griddle in a dry location. Normal heat discoloration of stainless steel can be reduced by routine cleaning.
