Fire Magic 3090A 3-Hour Automatic Gas Shut-Off Timer

Add timed gas shut-off to a compatible gas appliance with Fire Magic model 3090A. Its dial provides up to three hours of operation.

Specifications and installation

  • Connections: 1/2-inch NPT at both ends; horizontal or vertical mounting.
  • Rated capacity: 100,000 BTU for natural gas at 7 inches water column or propane at 11 inches water column.
  • Maximum working pressure: 1/2 psig. Operating ambient range: 0 to 175 degrees F.
  • Install downstream of the primary shut-off valve, at least 18 inches and no more than 6 feet from the appliance, protected from heat and weather.

Required for installation

A separate primary gas shut-off valve remains necessary. This timer does not replace it. Installation must comply with the appliance manual and applicable codes.

Operation

For settings shorter than one hour, first turn the dial beyond one hour, then return to the desired setting. After use, turn the appliance controls, timer and primary gas supply off. Test timer shut-off periodically as directed in the manual.
