The Carol Rose OP36FB2MF is a 36-inch outdoor firebox for a separately selected, approved outdoor gas burner. It provides the fireplace enclosure, not a complete burner-and-log appliance.

Requires a separately selected, listed outdoor gas burner suitable for the firebox dimensions and rated no higher than 50,000 BTU/hr. Select the exact logs or media required by that burner. A traditional log package is not automatically required for a contemporary burner. Install the supplied hood or approved extended hood before operation.
DT36SS drain tray, WD36SS weather door and VB4H36SS extended hood are manufacturer-listed optional accessories. A drain tray changes the framing height. The extended hood is recommended for non-combustible facing thicker than one inch. Protection accessories must not obstruct the opening while the burner operates.

Use only in a suitable outdoor, well-ventilated space, sheltered from direct wind. It is not intended for a building, garage or enclosed room. Observe both the firebox and selected burner manuals; a burner may impose stricter enclosure requirements. Maintain at least 6 inches to a perpendicular combustible side wall from the inside opening, 36 inches clear in front, a 3/4-inch top framing gap and the illustrated 3/8-inch side-face gaps. Mantel clearances vary with depth and must follow the diagram. Keep at least 2 inches between the grate’s front legs and the firebox front edge.
The firebox manual specifies an 84-inch minimum ceiling and 96-square-foot porch; do not apply those values in place of stricter selected-burner requirements. Provide drainage and weather detailing: this assembly is not an exterior weather barrier. Install gas piping through the provided access locations using a qualified installer, and follow all manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.
Never burn wood or other solid fuels in this firebox.
Arrange inspection before use and at least annually. Vacuum or brush the control compartment at least twice a year and follow the selected burner’s maintenance schedule. Stainless steel can develop outdoor patina or surface oxidation; follow the specified cleaning method.
The firebox manual provides a limited five-year parts warranty on components and limited one-year parts coverage for remotes, accessories and replacement parts, subject to the original-purchaser, qualified-installation and maintenance terms and stated exclusions.
