Select a listed vent-free burner/log appliance that fits the firebox and does not exceed 40,000 BTU/h input. The heater determines fuel, ignition and actual heat input. This limit is not an output rating for the empty firebox. Do not burn wood.

Framing: 41-1/2 inches high × 39 inches wide × 23 inches deep. The depth assumes 1/2-inch wallboard flush to both front faces; peninsula width also assumes 1/2-inch wallboard flush to the end face. Add the platform height when elevating the firebox; follow the complete framing diagram.
Use the supplied hood or the exact approved replacement hood. Clearances include 36 inches in front of the firebox, 1-3/4 inches from the inside of the firebox to a perpendicular combustible side wall, and 42 inches from hood top to ceiling. Mantel projection changes the required clearance; use the standard-hood or optional-hood chart that matches the installation. Maintain at least 1-1/2 inches between grate front legs and the front firebox edges.
Apply the enclosure manual and the selected heater manual together, including combustion-air, room suitability and applicable-code requirements.
