The Napoleon Woodland 18 NEFI18H is an electric log-set insert that brings illuminated logs, glowing embers and supplemental heat to a suitable existing fireplace or mantel opening. It operates on household 120V power and does not burn wood or gas.

Included components

Required installation provisions
Provide a stable indoor location, the minimum opening below and a dedicated grounded 120V, 15A circuit. Do not use an extension cord. Clean ash and debris from an existing fireplace before installing. Follow the manual to seal chimney drafts with noncombustible materials and cap the flue against rain. Existing doors must not seal off the log set or trap heat; screens must permit adequate airflow.

Installation and safety notes
Keep loose combustible furnishings at least 36 inches from the front and keep heater openings clear. Position the log set about 2 inches from the rear wall for the intended projected flame effect. Lift the unit into place instead of sliding it across a mantel base. A qualified electrician must perform hardwiring. Installation must follow the exact manufacturer manual and applicable codes.
