Installation and safety notes
The Jasper 30 is an insert for a suitable existing solid-fuel masonry or listed factory-built fireplace. A compatible decorative barrier front and surround are ordered separately. Keep the barrier installed during operation and preserve the required airflow gaps. Natural-gas input is 21,000–30,000 BTU/hr; the manufacturer-approved propane conversion is rated 19,600–28,000 BTU/hr and must be performed by a qualified service agency.
Plan the approved vertical direct-vent liner system before ordering. The manual specifies a 10–50 foot vertical vent range and model-specific restrictor adjustments. The existing chimney must be inspected and suitable for the installation; the insert is not an unvented appliance. The fan and remote are optional additions. This appliance supplies supplemental room heat, not primary whole-home heating.
Installation and service must follow the manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.
