Steel Stoves are available in two types of ignition Millivolt (MV) and Intermittent Pilot (IP). The Millivolt system lights a standing pilot with a pushbutton piezo ignitor. Once the standing pilot is lit, the MV system operates with an on/off switch concealed on the back of the stove or with one of Empires optional remote control systems.
IP systems eliminate the standing pilot for even greater energy savings. Pressing the on/off switch ignites the pilot, which then ignites the main burner. IP systems can also operate with an optional remote control system.
Direct-Vent Empire Steel Stoves include Empires Slope Glaze Burner system with expanded ember bed for extra glow. Ceramic beads within the burner swirl and tumble the gas to create naturally swirling flames that are indistinguishable from a wood fire. Topped off with the hand-painted ceramic fiber log set and glowing embers, the effect is stunningly realistic and guaranteed to keep you and your guests mesmerized for hours.

The optional automatic blower for this model is CIB3. RVKN variable remote control applies only to intermittent-pilot natural-gas versions; RVKP applies only to intermittent-pilot propane versions. If either variable remote kit is chosen, the manufacturer also requires RCK30 valve-cover kit. A stove without that optional remote upgrade does not require the replacement cover solely for ordinary operation.
Select the exact factory fuel and ignition configuration. Fuel conversion is permitted only with the certified kit for the exact size, control system and conversion direction. The stove must draw combustion air from outside and discharge exhaust outside through the approved direct-vent system. Do not connect it to a flue serving a separate solid-fuel appliance. Keep the supplied protective barrier and glass installed during operation.
