Empire 40637 propane-to-natural gas conversion kit

Manufacturer part 40637 is the specified fuel-conversion kit for the DVCT40CSP95 intermittent-pilot gas appliance. It changes the listed appliance from propane to natural gas; it does not change the fireplace size, ignition system or installation type.

Exact application

Before ordering

Compare the complete appliance rating-plate model, revision, current fuel and ignition system with the manufacturer conversion table. This is not a universal Empire conversion kit. Similar model numbers, opposite conversion directions and different control systems do not establish compatibility. No fuel-conversion kit is needed when the appliance is already configured for the available gas supply.

Installation

A qualified service agency must perform the conversion with the certified kit and its instructions, then verify supply and manifold pressures, correct burner setup and safe operation. Do not substitute or improvise components. The conversion kit does not replace the appliance’s required logs, liner, barrier, vent system or other installation components.

Manufacturer documentation

DVCT40CSP95 manufacturer installation manual, conversion-kit table on page 8, explicitly identifies part 40637 and the fuel direction. Follow the kit instructions, appliance manual and applicable codes. Retain the documentation with the appliance.
