Installation and safety notes
Use the approved HHT SL300 chimney system or 8-inch DuraVent DuraPlus system. The included CAK4A is required with SL300. DuraPlus instead requires removal of the original starter ring and installation of the DuraPlus base plate; CAK4A is not required with that system. Follow the exact chimney-system instructions for supports, firestops, insulation shields and termination.
Outside combustion air is required. The manual specifies 6-inch UL181 Class 0 or Class 1 rigid or flexible ducting, supplied separately, with a maximum run of 40 feet. OA-RD-6 is an optional offset adapter, not a substitute for the required outside-air system. Maintain at least 1 inch of airspace at the appliance sides, 1/2 inch at the back and 2 inches around the chimney. The finished cavity must be at least 24 inches deep; consult the framing and hearth diagrams before construction. Do not fill required airspaces with insulation.
The automatic combustion control helps establish a fire and return it to the selected burn setting. Plan fan wiring and any optional Heat-Zone installation before closing the enclosure. The model is approved for manufactured-home installation only under the manual's conditions, including outside air, grounding and prohibition on installation in a sleeping room.
Warranty summary
Manufacturer warranty coverage and exclusions vary by component; consult the limited warranty in the model owner manual. Installation, operation and service must follow current manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.
