The MARQ42IN-B is the 42-inch, single-sided natural-gas Marquis II fireplace with IntelliFire Touch ignition, realistic split logs and ceramic viewing glass with an anti-reflective coating. Its tall firebox creates a traditional masonry appearance while a sealed direct-vent system exhausts combustion outdoors. Choose a compatible barrier front and interior refractory set to complete the appliance.

What is included

The base fireplace includes the gas burner and specified log set, fixed glass assembly, IntelliFire Touch ignition and touchscreen remote. Teco-Sil for the ember-light area is supplied with the appliance. The barrier front, selected interior refractory package, venting, construction materials and utility connections are separate installation requirements. Room photographs show a finished installation and selected finishing options; the surrounding room and finish materials are not included.

Required selections

Select one compatible FSMQ42 decorative barrier front and one complete BRICKMQ42 interior refractory set. Both must be installed before operation. The black, gun-metal and new-bronze front options below fit this model size. Tavern Brown traditional and herringbone refractory packages are alternative interior choices, not two packages to install together. A reflective-glass interior requires additional hearthbrick and top components and is not included in these brick-package choices.

Venting and installation

Provide a complete approved DVP direct-vent route, including the correct termination, firestops and supports for the installation. For this natural-gas model, install at least 24 inches of vertical pipe directly above the appliance before any elbow. Do not attach an elbow directly to the fireplace. Horizontal and vertical run limits depend on the exact routing; use the model-specific vent diagrams rather than treating the pipe selections as a complete vent kit. SLP use requires the specific manufacturer-approved arrangement; do not substitute or mix vent systems without following that documented arrangement.

Maintain the manual's minimum 1-inch side and rear clearances and 36-inch front clearance. Follow its noncombustible facing-board, header, hearth, mantel and ceiling requirements, and adjust framing for interior sheathing. Installation and service must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with the manufacturer documentation and applicable codes. This appliance is supplemental room heat and is not intended as the home's primary heat source.

Optional equipment and fuel planning

Compatible optional controls include IFT-WFM Wi-Fi module and IFT-RC150 wireless wall switch. The supplied touchscreen remote does not need to be purchased again. Heat-Zone-Gas and Heat-Out-Gas are optional heat-management systems; each requires installation according to its own instructions. This listing supplies the natural-gas appliance. Propane use requires the exact manufacturer conversion kit and qualified installation; it is not a second factory-fuel SKU selected on this listing.

Warranty and manufacturer documents
