Empire Hearth Propane to Natural Gas Millivolt Conversion Kit - MV 31773

Empire 31773 propane-to-natural gas conversion kit

Part 31773 is the manufacturer-listed fuel-conversion kit for the millivolt Empire DVCC42BP family identified below. It converts an eligible appliance from propane to natural gas. It is not a universal gas-fireplace conversion kit and does not convert the ignition system.

Exact application

Before ordering

Verify the complete appliance model, original gas type and control system on the rating plate. A kit for a different fireplace size, opposite conversion direction or different ignition system is not interchangeable. This part is needed only when making the listed fuel conversion; an appliance already configured for the installation’s gas supply does not require a conversion kit.

Installation and documentation

Conversion must be performed by a qualified service agency using the certified kit and its supplied instructions. Follow the appliance manual for gas connections, pressure verification and commissioning. Do not operate the fireplace on a gas type different from its approved configuration, and do not improvise or substitute conversion components.

Empire DVCC32/36/42 installation manual, 41360-3-1024, page 8, explicitly maps 31773 to DVCC42BP30/32 and this conversion direction. Retain the kit instructions and appliance documentation after installation. Installation must follow manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.
