Included equipment

The base appliance includes IntelliFire Touch ignition, RC400 touchscreen remote, junction box, gas flex connector, accent and ember lighting, ceramic glass and eleven ceramic-fiber split logs. Teco-Sil glass ember rock and ember materials are supplied for placement as shown in the installation manual. The remote is factory paired and should remain with the appliance. Photographs show a completed installation; room furnishings, construction finishes, fronts and selected brick panels are not included in the base price.

Required configuration

The current manufacturer price book requires two FSMQ42ST barrier fronts and one BRICKMQ42ST brick-panel package, sold separately. Select one front for each viewing side using the two required front groups. Each group purchases one front; selecting the same finish for both sides purchases two fronts. Choose Tavern Brown or Cottage Red brick panels. Do not operate the appliance with a protective barrier or fixed glass assembly removed.

Venting and installation

Use a complete approved HHT DVP vent system. Install at least 24 inches of vertical pipe directly above the appliance before any elbow; an elbow must not attach directly to the fireplace. The pipe and termination selections below are parts of a planned route, not a universal complete vent kit. Route-specific firestops, supports, shielding and other parts remain necessary where required by the installation manual. Do not mix manufacturers' pipe systems. Wall and ceiling penetrations require the applicable firestops. Follow the exact run-length diagrams, offset limits and termination clearances.

Maintain the specified 1-inch side and 36-inch front clearances. A noncombustible hearth extension and the required facing construction must follow the manual; required hearth elevation can change framing height. The manual also gives special vinyl-flooring clearances. Installation and service must be performed by qualified personnel according to the manufacturer documentation and applicable codes. This appliance is supplemental room heat, not the home's primary heating system.

Optional equipment

Heat-Zone-Gas and Heat-Out-Gas are optional heat-management systems, subject to their own installation instructions. The included RC400 remote does not need to be purchased again. IFT-WFM and IFT-RC150 are optional controls listed with the model's manufacturer documentation. This product is supplied for natural gas. Propane operation requires the exact LPKMARQ42ST conversion kit and qualified conversion; propane is not a second factory-fuel choice on this listing.
