Empire Boulevard 36-inch Direct-Vent Linear Fireplace DVLL36BP92

The DVLL36BP92 is an indoor linear gas fireplace with multifunction remote control and a 36-inch-wide glass viewing area. Choose the exact natural-gas or propane configuration, then select compatible optional finishes and accessories. Its direct-vent system draws combustion air from outdoors and discharges exhaust outdoors.

Model-specific specifications

Propane input range 22,000–28,000 BTU/h
Glass width × height 36 × 13 inches
Face width × height, excluding nailing flanges and standoffs 49 × 34-1/4 inches

The face and framing dimensions above are from the model-specific dimensional drawing on page 11 and framing table on page 20. They are different measurements; verify the delivered appliance and the complete installation drawing before construction.

Included equipment and genuine requirements

The factory-installed metal liner must remain installed unless replaced with an approved alternative liner. The multifunction control system operates the burner and supports optional accent lighting and blowers. A protective barrier is required; verify whether the selected barrier/front package is supplied or separately purchased. Do not operate without the required barrier and liner.

A complete manufacturer-approved direct-vent route and termination are required. Match the gas type to the rating plate; fuel conversion requires the certified model-specific kit and qualified installation.

Required crushed glass and optional decorative media

Quarter-inch crushed glass is required over the burner screen. The manufacturer instructs installation in a single layer, using only enough to mask the screen, and specifies up to 4 square feet for DVLL36BP. Keep glass out of the recessed pilot, pilot-sensor and ignitor-probe area. Follow page 42 for placement rather than using another model’s quantity.

The approved colors listed are DG1BUC blue clear, DG1BKP black polished, DG1CLF clear frosted, DG1BZR bronze reflective and DG1BCR copper reflective. The LSM1THF rustic log-and-stone assembly is optional and does not replace the required crushed glass.

Optional finishes and accessories

Optional liners include DVP36LPKR gloss-black porcelain and DVP36LPZ bronze ridgeback. Beveled trim choices include DF36LBL / DF36LHP; the manual also lists model-specific window frames and forged-iron fronts. Match the complete part number to this fireplace size. LK9 accent lighting and FBB20 twin blowers are optional. Install the blower before final enclosure where practical for easier rear access.

Controls and power

The remote provides six flame levels and thermostat operation, including a Smart Thermostat mode that modulates flame as room temperature approaches the set point. The transmitter uses three AAA batteries; the wall-mounted backup holder uses four AA batteries. Battery backup supports fireplace operation during an outage, but optional lighting and blowers do not operate without their electrical supply. The manual identifies Pilot On Demand operation with a seven-day inactivity shutoff; continuous-pilot mode is not available on this model revision.

Installation planning

The manual specifies at least 65 inches from the appliance bottom to the ceiling and 8 inches from the side of the fireplace opening to an adjacent sidewall. The framing arrangement includes a 16-inch noncombustible zone above the appliance. Use the exact mantel chart; a nominal zero-clearance classification does not remove the documented clearances.

Horizontal vent requires at least 3 inches above and 1 inch at the sides and bottom. Use the complete model/fuel-specific vent charts for allowable horizontal runs, rises and elbows. Do not recess the termination into the wall, and follow the exterior clearance table. Any heat-management or power-vent package requires its own listed instructions.

Manufacturer documents

DVLL36BP92 / DVLL48BP92 installation instructions and owner manual, 43146-4-0223 covers the listed non-K model revisions, fuel ratings, dimensions, approved accessories, venting, glass placement and remote operation. Installation and service must follow manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.
