The Tahoe family of Deluxe fireplaces, available in 32″, 36″, 42″, and 48″ models, features a contour-style burner that produces a realistic, flickering flame. This burner is the perfect compliment to the hand-painted, multi-piece ceramic log set.

DVD Tahoe Deluxe models are offered with millivolt or intermittent-pilot controls. Select the exact model for the installation’s gas supply.

Empire DVD32/36/42/48 installation instructions, 43115-3-1024. Use the exact fuel, ignition and revision on the appliance rating plate. See page 7 for ratings and barrier-screen selection, page 8 for approved vent systems, and page 14 for framing. Installation must follow manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.

Included installation materials

The manufacturer carton list includes the log set, rockwool, decorative rocks, hardware pack, accessory sheet, registration card, receptacle and junction-box cover. Intermittent-pilot models additionally list a power adapter and four AA batteries.

Required protective barrier

The manufacturer lists DVFB42TBL as the matte-black barrier screen for DVD42FP. A protective firescreen is required for operation and is sold separately. Verify the selected barrier or approved barrier-equipped finishing package before installation; optional trim does not remove this requirement.

Framing and finishing guidance

Minimum framing depth is 16-3/8 inches. The stated framing height includes the three-inch standoff clearance. A flush mantel base adds 3-3/4 inches to the height, and any supporting panel must also be accounted for. Keep all air inlet and outlet louvers unobstructed. Use only noncombustible facing over the black fireplace front and follow the manual’s mantel and termination-clearance diagrams.
