Empire CKV115 Natural Gas to Propane Conversion Kit

The Empire CKV115 is the manufacturer-documented natural gas to propane conversion kit for BFM18MTN, BFM2124MTN and BFM30MTN Elite vented burners. It is a service/configuration component for those exact burner models, not a complete burner or log set.

The CKV115 manual identifies model-specific propane main orifices, the propane pilot orifice, conversion labels and a 10.0-inch W.C. regulator. The installer must use the orifice specified for the exact burner size. The converted burner requires 10.0-inch W.C. manifold pressure and 11.0–13.0-inch W.C. inlet pressure.

Required installation checks

Installation must be performed by an Empire dealer or qualified gas-service agency. Follow the complete conversion sequence, verify fuel and component selection, check the gas connections for leaks and perform the required safety-shutdown test. Reinstall the burner media and logs exactly as prescribed by their manuals. Do not use this kit as a universal replacement for another burner family or valve system.

Venting and configuration

The kit is for the listed vented burner application. It does not change the fireplace into a vent-free appliance or remove its chimney, damper and combustion-air requirements. The burner, fireplace and log set are ordered separately.
