Product overview

Empire VFLC Loft is an indoor vent-free gas insert family for an approved existing fireplace or the documented built-in installation. This small family includes VFLC10IN32, VFLC20IN32 and VFLC20IN72 models. Select the exact factory fuel and ignition configuration; field fuel conversion is prohibited.

Included components

Protective barrier and black reflective liner. Keep the protective components installed during use.

Required components

A manufacturer-approved decorative front and exact-size surround are required. DS20433BL or DS20763BL are listed three-sided surrounds for VFLC10/20; SC256BL cast-iron surround requires SAN20 adaptor. Choose the package appropriate to the documented installation method.

Optional accessories

FBB7 variable-speed blower, compatible controls and approved decorative media are optional. DG-1-BKP Black Polished, DG-1-BUC Blue Clear and DG-1-CLF Frost are listed glass accessories. The optional blower needs 120 V, 60 Hz, 1 A electrical supply. RVKN and RVKP variable remotes apply only to their matching intermittent-pilot fuel versions.

Installation and safety notes

Existing-fireplace fit dimensions are not built-in framing dimensions. Use the manufacturer drawings for the selected arrangement and surround. Provide adequate combustion and ventilation air. Models above 10,000 BTU/h are prohibited in bedrooms and bathrooms; local restrictions may also prohibit lower-input versions. Do not burn solid fuel in a fireplace containing this heater. Installation and service must follow the exact manual and applicable codes.

Warranty summary

The original purchaser receives limited lifetime parts coverage for the combustion chamber and heat exchanger, with five years of limited labor. Other covered components have five-year parts and labor coverage, excluding remotes, thermostats, lights, accessories and replacement parts, which have one-year parts coverage. Qualified installation, maintenance and proof of purchase are required; the manual lists exclusions and service conditions.
